Skibo Castle, Scotland Golf Courses

Skibo Castle was owned by Andrew Carnegie a hundred years ago.

Andrew Carnegie employed the legendary John Sutherland to build a private links course at his house, Skibo Castle in 1898
Never being a man to take half measures, Carnegie then invited  J.H. Taylor, five times Open Champion, to stay at the Castle and teach him to play golf.

Skibo is now a hotel/private club. Donald Steel, internationally links architect, has reconstructed  Carnegie's original course at Skibo, to provide an outstanding natural eighteen hole championship links.

Bounded on three sides by the sea, the views are spectacular. Only club members and their guests can play the course
